Hello, my name is Sophie and I am interested in enhancing creativity, connection, and a sense of well-being, as we strive for collective liberation. I grew up in Hong Kong, learning Cantonese from my Chinese mum’s family, and English from my British dad. I appreciate the multiplicative challenges and joys that come with a multicultural identity and hope to provide a space for Asian-identifying (AAPI) folks to feel understood. Whether you are a Third Culture Kid or feel somewhat suspended between identities, straddling various cultural spheres- I see you. Whether you are a product of immigrants, a “foreigner,” or a target of hate crimes- I see you, and I stand in grief and solidarity with you.
My approach to therapy is eclectic, drawing from psychodynamic theory and Acceptance Commitment Therapy, which incorporates mindfulness as a core coping skill. I work with adults (individuals and couples) struggling with mood disorders, life transitions, relational conflicts, and identity exploration. I embrace a holistic outlook on health, which values spirituality, intuition, and inner wisdom.
Finding a fitting therapist to entrust yourself to is a daunting task. I applaud you for taking the first step. You can expect me to be warm, inviting, and collaborative, tailoring the therapeutic experience to your personality, needs, and goals.
Please contact me for a free phone consultation if you think we may align.
