On the outside, things can look steady and put-together, while internally it may feel like getting stuck in the same patterns, feeling unclear in relationships, or questioning identity. Hi, I'm Phyllis, and I support individuals navigating complex family dynamics, unresolved childhood experiences, and relationship challenges. Having grown up as an international school student in both Asia and the U.S., I understand the isolation and identity tension of a multicultural upbringing. Through my work with immigrants, people of color, and LGBTQIA+ individuals, I've seen how family stories, cultural tensions, and generational trauma affect our sense of self.
I draw from psychodynamic, relational, and trauma-informed approaches in my work. I have particular experience supporting clients through mood disorders and major life transitions, whether you’re processing loss, managing work-life balance, or adapting to a new environment. Rather than seeking quick fixes, I believe in the power of deep exploration: understanding the “why” behind our patterns so we can make conscious choices about who we want to become.
In our work together, expect a space that feels grounding, exploratory, and non-judgmental. Therapy with me is about moving beyond performance and explanation. You can come as you are, feeling unsure, confused, or overwhelmed, and together we can work toward healthier relationships, stronger boundaries, and a deeper understanding of yourself at a pace that feels right for you. My goal is to provide a safe and warm space where you can feel curious and compassionate, creating the foundation for lasting change.
