My therapeutic approach focuses on the strength and self-determination that you already possess. For individuals who feel stuck and stressed, therapy can be a space for enduring challenging times with support instead of in a silo on their own.
I work with multi-cultural individuals experiencing anxiety, stress, exhaustion from: the many roles and identities they may hold; attempting to build their own lives; or creating boundaries. All while trying to navigate their family of origin, loved ones, peers, and cultural and societal expectations. Areas of focus are life transitions, relational issues, and inner conflict. You want to be mindful of your family, loved ones, peers, but don’t know how to balance them with your own wants and needs.
My role is to provide a comfortable space for you to flesh out the issues you are experiencing; to help develop insight, self-esteem and confidence; and to create new goals, thoughts and behavior patterns.
I am a second generation Southeast Asian American woman and a child of refugees which has shaped my interest in working with adults from diverse racial and cultural identities. I can empathize with straddling the different roles and identities we may form for ourselves and others.
