Anxiety & depression, adjustment to a new culture, isolation from family and friends, code-switching, existential angst, losing a loved one, past wounds from family you can't seem to shake... On some days experiences like these may feel manageable. On other days these same experiences might leave you feeling overwhelmed, alone, and deeply exhausted.
I believe that therapy can help you feel less at the mercy of painful forces outside of your control and more like you have a solid path forward, through the overwhelming and confusing currents of your life. As a therapist I would be the wizard to your hero’s journey, bringing therapeutic insight to support the unique needs of your individual quest.
I am a Korean American therapist trained in methods to treat anxiety/depression as well as methods to untangle the dense knots of trauma and grief. I am currently pursuing advanced studies in psychoanalysis at The Institute of Contemporary Psychoanalysis.
I have done meaningful work with clients experiencing depersonalization, bereft of emotion or embodied experience. I have also worked well with clients who struggle with feeling like they don’t know their true self, or, due to multilayered identities, never feel like they belong fully in any of the conventional demographic categories.
I am a queer-affirming person of faith, and I welcome clients of all genders, sexual orientations, and spiritualities.
