Hi, I’m Jess Yoon (she/her)!
Though I am a clinician, more than anything, I’m committed to being a real-life person and being human. Therapy is a scary and vulnerable place and I want to make sure you feel like you’re in a safe and accepting space, talking to another somebody navigating just as complicated and overwhelming world like you are.
I am trauma-informed, and I support clients with a range of experiences, which includes but is not limited to family dynamics, relationships, identity, as well as life transitions. These circumstances may heighten mental health stressors such as anxiety, depression, and related mood, mental health complexities, and I want to be a source of support as you navigate the realities of these challenges. I am sensitive to more culturally sensitive/AAPI-background dynamics such as immigrant/first-generation perspectives and generational trauma. Additionally, I am dedicated to providing LGBTQ+ affirmative therapy, acknowledging and respecting the diverse experiences within this community.
My background also includes working with clients as they navigate religious trauma and challenges, and I am also able to provide faith-based and/or spiritually sensitive counseling based on the needs of the client. I bring a balanced perspective and work towards creating a gentle and affirming space for you to explore and process complex issues and identities.
*I am familiar with child/adolescent clients and have experience working collaboratively with families and systems that affect the pediatric client, as well as supporting families and guardians therapeutically.
As a social worker, whether you are an individual, child/youth, or a family, my highest priority is to see your strengths and to prioritize you as the center of your story and healing. Together, we can work towards growth and change—where you’re supported, understood, and empowered to navigate life’s challenges.
