You’re not where you thought you would be by this point in your life. Everyone else around you seems to have it together while you’re skating by. The anxiety and pressure of everyone’s expectations weigh heavy on you. You desperately want change but you find yourself in the same place over and over again. And you can’t seem to shake off this feeling of self abandonment – increasingly doubting yourself and your identity. You have tried to escape past scars of invalidation, abuse, and rejection but it feels like they’re catching up to you.
Most repeated traumas are relational traumas and therefore, it is so hard to heal without relationships. Unresolved trauma can often look like anxiety, depression, anger, relationship issues, substance use, and physical pain. These issues can be extremely distressing and isolating. I believe that change is possible for anyone and the good news is that it starts with just one question: “Could there be something better?”.
I provide trauma-informed and culturally responsive therapy. As a second generation Asian American, native New Yorker, and New Jersey transplant, I specialize in working with Asian American adults and Children of Immigrants who struggle with unresolved trauma, sexual abuse, anxiety, and depression. Having worked with trauma survivors for most of my career, my work is grounded in attachment, relational, and mindfulness theories.
Working on ourselves is challenging and uncomfortable. Therapy is an investment in yourself, which can feel foreign. It can also be the beginning of building healing relationships. Clients come to me looking for a trauma-trained, nonjudgmental, and compassionate therapist. My treatment method will always be tailored to you. You have already made an incredible step for yourself by being here and I hope to empower you to continue showing up for yourself.
