About Me

My mission as a therapist is to create a world where emotional healing is accessible to everyone. My path to becoming a therapist began when my mentor at Columbia University told me that my background combined with an education could allow me to support those who could not find help from someone who shared their identity or life experience. I am here to support clients who are marginalized or experiencing difficulties in their life, but never found a safe space to heal or could not find an empathetic therapist. In our sessions, I will listen to your story without judgement or biases. I offer Strengths-Based Therapy combined with Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) teaching you stress management, emotion regulation, interpersonal effectiveness, so that you can heal, feel empowered, and become resilient while reaching your full potential. As a Sri-Lankan Japanese immigrant and woman of color, I know that having a trusting support system is key to a fulfilling life. I am here to offer you a place of healing and compassion. I look forward to beginning this journey with you!

Additionally, I have extensive experience in working with racially marginalized populations and international students.

I am also a MBTI Certified counselor and served as a career counselor and Wellness Director at Columbia University for 10 years prior to launching a mental health practice.
