Hello! My name April, and it's so nice to meet you! As a counselor, I have worked with a wide array of clients and presenting concerns. This has included depression, anxiety, perfectionism, self-esteem, gender/sexuality, body image issues, & life transitions. My counseling approach is social justice oriented, and affirming of all cultures, genders, and sexualities. I have a particular passion and experience in working with the Asian American & Pacific Islander (AAPI) community, as well as transition-aged youth (ages 16-25) and those working to determine who they are and what they want in life (i.e., identity exploration).
Throughout our counseling relationship I will foster an environment of warmth, authenticity, acceptance, & non-judgment while working together to address whatever is weighing on your mind. I enjoy working with clients to modify their thoughts, emotions, & behavior to create a life they love, while celebrating their strengths & building meaningful connection.
Counseling can be a transformative and healing experience, but it also requires courage and strength in vulnerability. I am grateful for the opportunity to work closely with you to discover your unique strengths and meaning, overcome difficult life experiences, and achieve mental, emotional, and behavioral wellness. I look forward to connecting with you!
