About Me

I believe we all want to feel safe, to feel genuinely seen and known, to be comfortable in our own skin, to have meaningful relationships with others, to be able to bounce back from challenges, and to know, deep down, that we are good enough. My goal is to work together with clients to rediscover their natural inner resources and instinctual ability to heal.

I provide therapy to adults and adolescents with anxiety, depression, family conflicts, relationship challenges, low self-esteem, life transitions, and more. I also specialize in working with clients of color, and the Asian and Pacific Islander communities in particular.

I believe emotions, thoughts, behaviors, the nervous system, and the body all play a role in one’s overall well-being. Therefore my practice and training are integrative, including attachment-based approaches, cognitive behavioral therapy, meditation and mindfulness, psychodynamic theory, and trauma-informed therapy. I am also one of only a few practitioners in the US trained in the continuum model of Music and Imagery therapy, created by the founder of Guided Imagery and Music, Helen Bonny.

I bring to my work as a therapist nearly 20 years of experience working with young adults, adolescents and their families on college and high school campuses. In addition to working as a therapist at the campus counseling centers at New York University and LaGuardia Community College, I was Senior Associate Director of Admissions and Director of Engineering Recruitment at Columbia University, where I worked for over a decade; and a counselor and Co-Director of College Counseling at independent high schools, where I worked for five years. Before obtaining my Master’s degree in Social Work from New York University, I earned an undergraduate degree from Amherst College in Religion with an emphasis on Buddhist philosophy and a graduate degree at Columbia University Teacher’s College in Higher Education Administration. I have lived and studied in Taiwan and Beijing, and traveled extensively throughout the world.
